Pool of the Year

As with the other categories, pools can enter themselves or be nominated by others. Entries will be expected to show how the pool has planned and progressed the pooling process, implemented best practice, and demonstrated leadership both for member funds and within the LGPS as a whole.

Outstanding Contribution of the Year

Best Approach to Sustainable Investing

Criteria include evidence of ESG best practice within existing portfolios and/or examples of investing with impact as a primary driver.

LGPS Investment Strategy of the Year

Entry to include: risk management strategy (covering but not limited to LDI, cash flow management strategy, actuarial risk, strategic risk, equity protection); and/or secure income strategy (including but not limited to debt, Gilts, index linked, multi-sector credit, real estate debt).

Private Markets Award

Covering all aspects of private market investment; this category includes infrastructure investment, real estate, private equity and debt and other unlisted assets.

Scheme Governance Award

An award recognising the importance of governance for members of the LGPS. The winner will have shown excellence in the implementation of systems and procedures for managing the long-term objectives of the pension scheme. Criteria to be considered will include transparency, pension boards, training and communications strategy.

Collaboration Award

Open to both pools and local authority pension funds. An award given to the local authority or pool that has demonstrated an ability to work with other entities within the LGPS and shown leadership in furthering the aims of the LGPS through collaboration and co-operation.
